Leeds City Centre Parking at night?
Discussion
Quick question for you guys:
Can you park for free anywhere near the met university, during the late evening and night?
I'm in Leeds City Center to see airbourne on Tuesday and can't be bothered paying the extortionate taxi fee's too and from and fancy taking the car as I wont be drinking
any advice?

If you go up the road past the Met BAR, turn left in front of the Dry dock and over the ringroad flyover, go past the old BBC building, opposite the Leeds Uni buildings on the right, theres a small-ish housing estate tucked behind the kebab shops and the main road going back in the other direction, not sure if its permit or not but I've parked outside a mates house there a couple of times.
Either there or head up past the Parkinson building (Leeds Uni) and take the right there. Follow to the end and park to the right on that bottom road. I used to park there when I worked near Leeds Met and also when I go to the City during the day. Not sure how safe it might be at night if it's quiet though!

If you can find a space on the road, and yo usually can. It's free atfer 6pm IIRC.
You can't go out on a friday, get slaughtered, then pick it up sat at 1pm without getting a 30 quid ticket though
......you can do that on a sat night though!
Ahh...is this anywhere? Could I potentially park near Civic Hall at the P&D without being bummed on a price? You can't go out on a friday, get slaughtered, then pick it up sat at 1pm without getting a 30 quid ticket though

On a tues night I'd be surpised if you couldn't get very close, unless of course the gig you're off to is super popular.

Although, I'm sure that outside the civic is close enough

You will get a ticket following morning in Leeds - my advice would be to get the bus or train in - leeds city centre is pretty bad for overninght break ins as well or use the Light car park
I've always gone for The Light or outside friends' places if it has been an overnight job. My dad did once return to his car with all 4 doors and the boot wide open and he certainly wouldn't normally park it in such a manner! Having said that I've left my car in the middle of Headingley with all the drunks on a Friday night and it survived unscathed! It all depends how many sherberts you fancy mate! v15ben said:

I used to hide the car behind Strawberry fields when I knew the crowd, but don't do that anymore

Howdo sir Cook how goes things? When did they let you out of quarantine and into the WY circulation

Pretty sure you can park in the main Leeds (not Met) university car parks after 4pm for the evening. The barrier is up from 4...
Coming from Headingley, turn right after the Parkinson building, in through the main entrance and follow the road round to below the main admin building. Fairly safe.

I've been informed by Leeds CC parking services, that any pay and display is free after 6pm

If you did decide to leave the car, providing it is after 6pm, you can pay the amount that would be due for 4 hours parking on the following morning. Meaning you won't return to a ticket, providing you move your car by 1pm.I've parked my car overnight on the streets around the Met bar many times, never had a problem.
