Just got back from a Mountain Rescue training exercise. After spending the day slogging around the hills in farkin freezing conditions, we get a radio message to end-ex and RV back at the control vehicle because a number of vehicles have been broken into. One of the lads gets back to his car, to discover some absolute scumbag has broken the quarter light and stolen a polyprop T-Shirt, some other bits and bobs and a team goretex jacket, i.e. it has Mountain Rescue emblazoned on it about three times, so is effectively worthless. What's worse is the vehicle had Mountain Rescue stickers in the front and rear of the vehicle and had a huge Mountain Rescue on Call-Out sign in the back, so the tossers knew who they were stealing from. I'm so furious at this as it going to cost the team (entirely charity funded) to replace the jacket, and will cost the lad for a new window, both of which he and the team can ill afford.

What kind of low-life does this.

I can only hope that they were involved in a horrific car accident as they drove back under whichever stone they crawled out off. wkers.

So just because you like saving the lives of divs who don't go equipped or hurt themselves or summint you think you should be immune from crime?

FFS - You'll want 9 lives next.

What do I get for being a brain surgeon?

I thought thefts from isolated car parks like this were at epidemic proportions?

Did he really leave stuff on show in the car? That's a bit bonkers to be honest.

Nooooo. You should hope that you go on a call-out to a guy on top of a mountain with a painful complex fracture of the leg. He is wearing the mountain rescue jacket (and a hoodie, naturally).

I'd agree with you if it was my car, i.e. not stickered up. But to break into a vehicle that is clearly an MR team members vehicle on a "call out" and then to steal MR kit is very very low IMHO.

I knew North Yorkshire was getting worse.

Seems odd though usually at this time of the year the scum are off stealing xmas trees and stuff to order for council estate santa's.
