- Model

Sponsors

Included in this is a picture of your car and preferably yourself along with any sponser logos you want me to include on your profile.

You should talk to ph and link this forum under the forum header rather than split it across 2.

ph no this and we can even have a branded version, so it fits in with the tvr site..

Good idea G, my original mock up had the PH forum in but for now we've left it blank. I tend to agree with having just the one forum so if you could ask some questions about a PH branded version for the Challenge Site, let me know what you find out and hopefully we can get it in there.

We did something similar on the old kit car site... hosting the forum on ph, but it looked like it was part of the site..

we can set this one up so it looks like part of the tvr site but is also here...

Ah that's cool, I know there are plenty of people who want a separate forum on the new site but I think it would provide a good link between the two. Afterall, all of the drivers, supporters, team members, other TVR owners (and potential racers) and many sponsors are already on here and check the forum regularly. With a few banners on the PH side and the odd sticky, I would have thought it would be a good gateway to get users across to the new site? Then maybe have a private forum on there as well if the desire is there?

Have you spoken to them about the possibility of an e-mail list.. like the old yahoo lists...

you could have a subscription form on the site, which you could vet for drivers and team members... there is then an address that registered members send a mail to and it goes to everyone on the list... a good way of keeping in touch and keeping things private.. also much easier to get yourself on the list if you are missing, as that seems impossible at the moment..

Forums are ok, but a mail list means you dont need to check it the important stuff comes straight to your inbox...It also keeps the general banter separate so it doesnt get lost..in it

I will be implementing an email list over the next month for drivers only on the new site. So keep an eye on things, and will let you know soon!

I do have an important request though. I am currently in the process of updating the driver profiles and hopefully there will not be many left to complete. However, I feel this is important to get finished first. Anyone who has not submitted their details yet can go to the following (temporary page) I have put up on the site just for this purpose: Please check you profiles on the site and anything that needs changing or adding, please let me know.
I will keep the form online until Saturday 20/12/08

This is also important. Any photos you submit, please include the name of the person who owns/took the photo. Sounds petty, but some people can get annoyed if no acknowledgment is listed.

So if you know of any drivers who haven't added their details, please let them know of this address.

PS The drive profile details are only available to drivers of the Race Series!

Do you mean the profiles on the site? Surely they should be open to anyone?? The whole point of having them there is so that potential racers can see what other drivers do, how old they are etc so they can see how accessable the series really is. Then the car details then help so people can see what sort of bits these race cars run. This gives potential builders an idea what to aim for and shows people that often they don't need to do as much as they thought in order to turn their road/track day/sprint car into a competitive racer.

Coupled with a some build diaries and articles on driver's race experiences I would have thought it would be an excellent way to get more drivers into the series?

I've got a good number of race reports ive done going back to the Tasmin challenge days i you fancy some of them.


I'd also like to expand on the tasmin and TVRCC parentage of the current series... I'll pen something and get it to you if thats ok

Most of my details are up on the site, but some of them that were posted seem to have disappeared. Things such as engine specs etc. They were there one day but gone the next Also I have no idea who took the picture in my profile, I have hundreds of them.

Ha! Sorry I was hoping I'd read that wrong.... I've been a bit sleep depraved lately and am once again working into the early hours to get sodding coursework finished for Friday. Think I'm going cross-eyed

Edit: I would have thought that a few choice driver reports from past years would be interesting to include as well as the history of the Taz series and TVRcc series that joined the Tuscans. I'll also get a DL-1 page put together when I have a moment with all of the info, a new guide, links to the latest analysis software etc which will help some people out hopefully

Don't worry about the driver details Dave, there are some issues with the database apparently so various bits are swapping over where they shouldn't be. It's getting sorted by Andy so hopefully he'll have it working well soon!
