Sorry to hear about this Markus... I hope all works out well in the end and you find a replacement you are happy with.

I have read so many stories of mechanics/dealers taking a spin in a Viper they have in for work and it all ending badly... I hope the responsible individual has been dealt with accordingly by the dealer/you.

Good luck with sourcing a replacement mate!

Well, Firstly you would want to take as mainy pics as possable for the insurance company, Then if you post pics on the VIPER fourms it can help assitain true repair costs, with people like Mr John B of Parts rack, helping out members and giving constructive advice! There was a guy recently on the VCA forums who wrote off his Bumble bee, the guy posted pics and there was a lot of constructive advice! That was the reasons why I asked. It was not to gloat. On another note though, Being as I almost lost 27k on a writen off Viper, ANY Bady dammaged or writen off viper that gets repaired I would like to know about wink If you remember a while ago there was a silver viper that people were talking about, as i remember it had a gen one front and some other odd bits on it? Then we found out (through the internet and Viper forums) that the car had come in from Europe and was in fact stolen and had been repaired! I think the car was found to be Andy bees. If those pics had not been posted, somebody would have lost a lot of monies, and the good news was the original owner was reunited with his car.

As a dealer who services vipers / mustangs etc. I can honestly say we do not test drive vehicles in for a routine service there is simply no reason. If there is a particular issue which requires road testing fine. As far as I can see this is sadly a typical and unneccesary test drive. I am sure the dealership in question does not test drive base model vehicles after an oil and filter change so why take out someones pride and joy. I am very sorry to here this Markus.

But in every bad situation there is a good one you need to find it and rip every last penny out of it

I went to see that car too, and walked away. (The one in Mansfield).

Stolen car wasn't mine. Wasn't it someone in Holland ?

Took a while but found the thred, Just bumped it. (Spotted KD52###)

While in the USA they have 'Carfax' which is not perfect, over here our euqivlent is HPI and that is Cr.p, trouble is HPI only deals with history of UK cars so if anything comes in from Europe, our only chance to find out if these cars are ok or bent is either through club records or Honnest members, through the power of the WWW!

By the way if any of you need it, Just read the VCA has linked up with Carfax for a full car report for just $10 woohoo

The "expert opinion" arrived...it is not complete!

So far 30500 Euros (39000 US$) damage.

No repaint of the car or measurement of the frame in the opinion.
Not a single word about motor mounts, brakes, only 4 of 8 control arms shall be replaced (why only 4?)...and so on.
One damaged side sill not mentioned, nor the rear right panel which has a crack...and so on...labor costs to repair the car only 2500 Euros...WTF!

I am mad.

It turned ugly quick. In the beginning, the dealer told me it is a small damage, I should regard it as a "transport damage".
He will fix it. The car will be like new. bla-bla-bla...give me a break!
