By modern standards the spec is very average and it is most definitely not HD!!! However if it gives you a few years of trouble free viewing then go for it. Presume you might have satellite as it only has analogue tuners. Why it has two beats me unless it has a built in recorder.

I guess it's cheap because hardly anyone wants non-HD screens now.

It may accept a 1080i image, it cant display it as is though, it will downscale it.

Is HD important. Haven't got Sky HD and can't see my changing to it for a while?

Beats me why anyone would want to watch any analogue picture on that screen let alone two at once!

HDMI and support for incoming formats does not change the fact the screen itself cannot display any HD sized images.

IMO if the picture quality is good then no, unless you want bluray, SkyHD(or terrestrial?) or one of the HD consoles.

It comes from a time where HD Compatible and the like were used to infer that non HD Ready screens were HD Ready.

Remember now! We sold the PAL range of Sharp panels a few years back that had an HDMI in but only had 540 vertical pixels. The panel was pretty good for SD telly and even with an HD picture performed pretty well.

Bluntly speaking then, assuming there were no obvious faults, what would you offer someone for this? (TV only, forget the stand for now).

Watch it?

Or come on PH and discuss various methods of insurance fraud. Looking what happens to those folks, i'll steer clear of that path if you don't mind.
