Hi all, Do any of you own a dB meter or know where i can borrow/use one. Am taking my wedge on a track day in november and want to measure my(nice)noise level to see how far over the limit it is?before i go spending a fortune on inserts.
I live near gravesend in kent, anywhere close would be a bonus;:-)
Cheers
Andy

I got one analogue and one digital from Maplins, they were £10-£20 each if I remember (fair few years ago mind).

Andy,
I used to take my Cerb to the local council offices where the friendly enviromental health chap has a db meter. He's always happy to oblige - might be worth a try rather than getting your own.

Hi Andy,

Ray has one......we are in Mid Essex and the Kent friendlies are coming over to the meet on Sunday.

If you fancy a ride out and a nice lunch feel free to join them and I'll get Ray to take it to the meet.

Drop me a mail if you're interested.

Andy my factories in Northfleet and although we don't have a dB meter on site we often borrow one from a client (Renegade Power Products) out at West Kingsdown. I know I've got to do a noise survey on some new machinery over the next few weeks, if you drop me a mail you'd be welcome to pop down and bend the needle

You could always pop down to Brands (as in Kent) for next meeting - watch some racing and as Scutineers to to it - only at 2/3's max revs remember - so I think alot of these sport exhaust should pass on a steady 4k revs.

Ok, following on from your advice,On the trackday i'm doing ,the limit is 105dB at 0.5M, Is the noise meter directly behind the exhaust or to one side when measured??
Cheers
