Never had one before, but been offered a high mileage (95k) car for really good money. Anyone had any experience of these trucks with lots of miles, reliability, maintenance costs, etc?

Any comments welcome.

Owned LR's for a long time but never after 60k miles. They are cheap for a reason..........but well worth it!

Check the front diff has been done, although as they tend to fail around 30-40k chances are it would have gone already if it was going to go. Also, gearboxes can be a little fragile at that sort of mileage. LR say they're sealed for life but they are very similar to the previous gearbox on the P38 which required an oil change every other service. Caveat emptor.

Believe it or not, nil, zero, da nada, nowt. LR have a recall going on at the moment and they'll do it for nothing. There's likely to be a bit of a queue.

This is true, but i am not so sure about being a bit of a queue.

I took mine in due to an oil leak which turned out to be a filler cap seal problem, which was a £6 fix, but while it was there they did the recall, i never even knew it existed until the dealer told me they had done it while it was in.

AFAIK, just the "BMW" L322 Rangies. The 4.4V8 and the TD6.
