Starting problems !!

After nearly 4 years of faultless starting - always on the button. Out of the blue came the dreaded dead button !!. Sometimes it would start as per normal - others nothing , tried all the usual things - pushing buttons - holding the starter button and just when i'd given up and rang the AA the begger would start . Traweled through old posts , finally found one where "Ireland" started delving into his immobiliser and after a e-mail pointing me in the right direction. Today when it decided not to play , i moved the wires for the immobiliser whilst pushing the starter button and the damn thing fired up staight off.
So well done "Ireland" for your help , Top man.

I had one the other day. Stopped to take a picture of the can next to a hoarding and the car wouldn't start. Turned out something was interfering with the immobiliser signal. Putting the square plug into the correct place got it started
