Just got a watch box (from TK Maxx....) so thought I'd use that as an excuse to show you my modest but growing collection of watches.

I've had the Accurist a long time, it was my first 'grown up' watch, but it wouldn't really be my choice today. My favourite is the Seiko Premier.

I'd like a pilot's watch (maybe a Citizen Promaster) and an automatic chronograph to fill the last two slots eventually. And then it's on to box no.2 which could one day accommodate a Frogman and a Seiko Alpinist..... this is fabulously addictive isn't it?

I only really got interested in watches after reading this forum, so it's your fault. I do like Japanese watches for some reason, not sure why. In particular Seiko automatics really appeal.

...and actually very useful, more than the day and date I find.

I thought you would have arranged them Alphabetically, or are they chronologically sorted?

Reverse order by serial number.

Seiko mechanical movements rock. For the money they are superb, and their top end (Grand Seiko and the legendary Spring Drive) are IMO worthy of comparison with the top Swiss manufactures.

I'd call Seiko a proper 'manufacture' since they make everything in-house and design their own movements. And their 'cult' watches have a huge following - I see you have an orange monster, like me smile Nice choice wink

Couldn't agree more, a Grand Seiko Spring Drive Chronograph would definitely be a keeper, to say the least.

At the more affordable end of the scale, Orient Star automatics are supposed to be pretty good, but I've never seen one in the flesh. I think they are a subsidiary of Seiko.
