Just to let off steam..................

Had a good row with a woman from betterware tonight.

Knocks on the door, asking for 3 books back.

When i explained they had been recycled (ie binned) I thought she was going to explode.

"They come out of my commission if they are not returned"

Well, perhaps you should be more careful with them- for example, not posting them through strangers doors? If i posted £50 through your letterbox, then came and knocked on your door completely unannounced at 8 30 on an evening about 3 weeks later, would you let me have it back?

Exactly.

In the end, im afraid i had to tell her to foxtrot oscar, as she simply couldnt understand that i wasnt returning them. I then pointed out the sign on the letterbox saying no sales materials.

The upshot of it is, i have been (in her words) banned from every buying from them again.

I think i will get over the great loss she has inflicted.

Seem to remember having a similar problem many, many years ago. Some unsolicted sales thing appeared in the letter box, so I duly binned it. A week or so later someone is knocking on the door asking if I wanted to order anything. When I stated I didn't know wha they were talking about, they mentioned the sales catalogue, and asked for it back.

They seemed quite miffed when I told them what I'd done with it.

If you're in next time they drop it through, simply pick it up, open the front door and throw it as far as you can out of the door, if they're still stood there all the better. Close door.

Worked for me, the appalling pikey looking woman hasnt been back.

You need to put a notice on you letter box that says. Royal Mail Only, no implied right to post.

Sorry guys..

but ppl have to make a living somehow?

yes the woman went a little overboard, as i think avon/betterwear/kleeneaze workers pay about .50p per book.. which soon adds up!

but at the end of the day, the game she's in is risk/reward and trying to get more out than she puts in.

i doubt she's getting x,000's of books out per week, so every lost book hurts her more than if she scaled up her operation.

ive had the guys distribute these book's before, and to be honest, they were more trouble than they seem to be worth ( Heavy!!!!! ), but they paid cash, and cash is king smile

I did that to some Labour Party canvassers who had the nerve to knock on my door despite there being a blue sticker in the window.

Their odious leaflet landed screwed up in the middle of the road while they watched, and I told them to take their litter home. At first they refused to pick it up, but then did so when they realised it wasn't a great advert for them.
