Learning Contract Bridge, what's the best program?
Discussion
Over the years I've tried several times to become an adequate bridge player, I've recently dug out my old Blue Chip program which must be 10 years old at least, and have been practising my play (but not the bidding, yet).
What's the best program at the moment, something to get me to the point where I can join a club without embarrassment?

Bridge is a great game, but you need to be up to a certain standard before joining a club (unless they have a beginners' section) in order to at least understand what you did wrong each time you f
k up.
I did join a club a few years ago, and managed to scrape by, but I've forgotten quite a bit and would like to find a good tutoring program.
Perhaps if no-one else here plays I'd better look on line and start reading reviews

I went to night school to learn how to play, but found that you pick up lots the more you play, try to find a club that has a beginners night, and pick a partner that is a better player than you, a post mortem will be held after each hand and no doubt you will be told how you should have played it.
What about playing online? http://www.bridgeclublive.com/
There is a fab book, I can't remember the name of it, something along the lines of Basic guide to Acol bridge, it could have been one of Klinger's but I will look for it and let you know.
I've been playing for 16 years and still make stupid mistakes, you are always learning.
