Nikon N80 Camera Body & 70-3000 zoom lens...
Discussion
Just been having a bit of a clear out and found my old Nikon N80 with a Nikkor AF 70-300mm zoom lens.
Since these are quite old and don't get used anymore I was contemplating sticking them on e-bay.
Any pointers as to what they might be worth, and would they be better sold separately or together?
cheers

Unfortunately most film SLRs are almost worthless - maybe £50 if you're lucky?Since these are quite old and don't get used anymore I was contemplating sticking them on e-bay.

As for the lens, it may be the 'G' or 'ED' version. The G lens is about £99 new and the better ED (now superseded by the VR) was about £220 new, but I'm not sure what the going second hand rate is though.

Don't forget to include lenscaps, body caps, rear caps, boxes and any other original stuff!
All the caps are pressent, and a UV filter, just haven't got the original box.I bought it years ago for photographing when on a visit to the Grand Canyon, thank God I can't remeber what I paid at the time, it was quite alot!

The 70 - 300 ED is a great lens. I use mine on the D3 a lot of the time. Someone on here should snap it up!

Well it's on ebay now so get clicking...
I can remove this link to the item if it breaks any posting rules.

I bought an F70 body in 1999 and it was £280. The F80 (N80 in the USA) came out shortly afterwards so it was probably about £350.

...but to put that into context, I bought a Nikon D1 at the same time for about £3,500 and there is one on e bay at the moment for (current bid) £94 with lens and two batteries.
Just in case anybody thinks ah ha... DON'T BUY IT!
Sure sucks to be me huh?Just in case anybody thinks ah ha... DON'T BUY IT!
I see D1s are going for circa £100 - £250, maybe we should hang onto this type of kit for another 50 years and then we might get a spot on the Antiques Road Show?
