I have all the symptoms and have had for a few years. I have left it and hoped it was nothing serious.
Have I left it too late, part of me would rather not know
My wife asked me about it this morning b/c she saw something about it on breakfast TV and recognised that I have the same problems they were discussing.

If you are really concerned get to a GP. Finding might be scary but not knowing is worse. See a GP, you may find out it is nothing. Don't see a GP and live wondering how long have you got. No brainer really. Oh and don't worry they will make sure the registrar who gets to do the exam has the largest fingers in the Western world

I've had these symptoms for 5+ years and I have thought it was normal and age related (had them since early/mid 30's) I'm 39 now.
Get it checked out, my uncle had seen many dr's complaining of problems in this particular area, and it wasn't until after a couple of years and different dr's that it was picked up on. He had a lot of treatment, and a couple of years off work, fortunately he seems clear for now.
Unfortunately he's now back working all the time, and the stress probably won't help him.

tter myself next week.Get it looked at. My mother in law suffered in silence for an age and then was misdiagnosed to add to the joy.
She's just been operated on to remove a tumour, but the cancer has spread to the lymph nodes around the bowel. Just recovering some strength before commencing chemo. If it is anything serious, which it probably isn't, the earlier it's detected and treated (as with many things) the more likely it can be banished.

I do suffer from gastroeosophical reflux disorder, so I guess could be a bit more than just GERD - could be I have IBS too to a certain extent.
It's been so long that I'm frightened to find out.
I went onto another motoring forum this morning and also saw a message of condolence for a forum member who has just died from the same thing and the same age as me, leaving a wife and children - very sad
That frightened me even more!

Kentish - go and get it looked at.
It is quite a scary prospect, but remember the people you are going to see really know their beans - they see this stuff every day and although it make be extremely scary to you, and you think its the end of the world, these people know it isn't, and know how to make it all better.
I'm not being very eloquent (and my spelling is well off) but in the end, its just putting something right thats wrong. Since working in a hospital, I've come to realise and understand that these people can really work miracles and will NEVER give up on you. Its much much better to know. Being ill isn't something to be scared of as there will be people fighting for you every turn you make.

Get it looked at. The tests aren't especially pleasant (although some would probably pay good money for the same experience if the Doc was in leathers), but the peace of mind you get after hearing that everything is ok is like a (good) drug!
If everything is not ok, then not knowing won't make it go away - but knowing *could*.

Could be piles I suppose (have always thought it was to be honest) but that would not explain the bloated feeling and frequency of visiting the little room. Plus I'm not overweight and I have a good diet of fruit, veg and fibre, not OTT but enough for a healthy diet.
I do get really tired though and will fall asleep quite easily lately.
Thanks for the repsonses and if anyone reading this has any symptoms of rectal bleeding, feeling a bit bloated and visiting the toilet for frequent movements accompanied by any discomfort then don't ignore it like I have, even if you also think you are too young!
I'll make an appointment to get checked out. My GP is lovely but I'm not sure I want her sticking her hand up there

He's off for a camera inspection tomorrow as it happens, and the early prognosis is that he's got a form of colitis. Not pleasant in itself, but a lot better than what he first thought, pre-doc checkup.
I also had the camera through the bellybutton op a few years back, when I was 26, following some shocking abdominal pains. All was clear, and turned out to be a severe form of IBS which has since gone away.
So, two blokes, around 30 years old, both having the camera treatment as a precaution. What I'm saying is that there are soooo many problems out there that cause the same INTERNET DOOM symptoms - just get checked out to be sure.
