After a quick tot up of what I have spent in my first year of ownership I am pretty shocked thats its more than I bought the car for! Spent 14k! So much for the figure of 3k that gets quoted often

If you're going to post something like this then details are essential.

Without major upgrades, chassis or engine work I can't see how you can get to £14K in expenses.

Servicing and maintainance shouldn't cost more that £3K PA, unless you're unlucky and break something.

At a rough gestimate, given your figures, you've spent £7.5K on upgrades.

So, taking the above into account, £6.5K in a year inc' an engine build isn't that bad.

409, not quite as high as hoped but the engine builder thinks it will release a few more horses as it does a few more miles

Yea hard to say thats the cost of running the car as most were mods? I have spent 1200 this year but not needed it was for induction and remap? Touch wood real cost so far is petrol and thats getting cheaper?? Dont want to scare off new owners with those sort of fiquers??

Thank god the £14K spend was clarified. I've told the Mrs to read as many threads on this site to help with my marketing campaign to help me purchase a Cerbera (which she is broadly agreed with). I've not heard from her yet re this thread, but I've got a headache coming on, so the call is due, I can feel it!

Running costs on mine have been around the £1250 for two years running, but I've spent about the same again on upgrades (necessary replacements if the wife is reading), and then wasted about the whole lot again on my exhaust fiasco this year.
