What ho chaps I am on a road trip that has taken me to the isle of Skye, yes it is wet cold and windy with snow forecasted for tonight.

Ok back to topic, my petrol flap will not open, I have pulled the boot lining down to expose the bowden cable, but as far as I can see there is no adjuster there. I have moved to the lever on the inside of the car and have got the rear part of the trim off, but how the hell do you get the front bit off????

Had the same problem. Try hooking some of the slack cable inside the boot liner to a bit of the chasis, or cable tie it to remove the free play in it then it should open. Still have mine cable tied and works fine.

Been there done that smile took down the boot liner in the back and pulled the cable as hard as I could, took a while but it eventually opened.

Once you get it open you will need to adjust the flat plate spring which is what locks and also springs open the flap when you pull on the lever inside the car. Had this on mine when I first put it together and it took a bit of fiddling to get right.

Now that makes sense as mine has never sprung open that well.

Now what is happing at the moment I am not shutting the flap so as not to get caught out again, but every hotel flunky says "Oh sir please let me close that for you" NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO you blithering idiot!!! and then you have to say why blah blah blah.

Hey lads cracking roads up here at this time of the year just nothing around, great corners even in the wet! "well there is nothing coming the other way, just the odd stag!"

Thanks for all the replies, just two more fill ups and I will be home and I will do as you say.

Cheers!
