Speed bumps causing accidents
Discussion
I was walking (yes, I was walking) home two nights ago and there was a teenager skateboarding up and down the street I was on, to make his life more interesting, he was 'jumping' over the steep speed bumps.
Soon he arrived at a speed bump who was out for revenge, he somehow didn't do his jump properly, he slipped on his skateboard and tumbled to his right... into the path of an oncoming car (which was in the process of traversing the speed bump at 15mph ish)
'Britain's Funniest Videos' couldn't have timed it better, he smacked his head on the front of the car and bounced back into the road.
Ambulance came, he was whisked away, I gave my name as a witness.
Do you think he should receive a Darwin award?

Come on, the kid might be dead. I know he was an idiot, but does that require the death penalty?
I wanna say YES. But weren't we all kids once? if the council spent the money on a skate park, BOTH driver AND skater would be happy. Yes it was stupid of the kid, but hey, kids do stupid stuff. That's called growing up. Doesn't mean I want speed bumps or low speed limits though, but don't condemn out of hand. Glad you were around to be a witness for the driver though.
Christ, life is so short. And so complex, there are no right and wrongs, no black and white anymore. Everything can be justified by someone more extreme than you, and everything is shades of grey. Maybe philosophical, maybe complete boll****, but pre-judging things is the biggest crime of all. Don't harm others, or wish harm on them... and maybe we all live happier lives?

Remember speed bumps save lies. The government says so, so it must be true. BRAKE says so, statistics say so, so it must be true.
The spin behind this will be that the dozy tosser was obviously brain dead otherwise he wouldn't be boarding in the middle of the road. If he survives he won't be so brain dead. Ergo speed bumps have brought him back to life.

Has someone taken over Carl's login? He's gone all hippy on us
With regard to the kid, yes I was young once too, but I seem to remember my mum telling me not to play in the road because it was stupid and dangerous and if I got run over by a car it would be my own stupid fault.

will probably go to claims direct, and assert that it wasnt his fault, pushing all our premiums up.
