Where to get Global knives sharpened in London?
Discussion
I know it's not professional but we've got a version of "Shinkasen Sharpener Shink" as seen on the page below and it's recommended by Global and does a really good job without the user being able to screw it up!

There are mobile knife sharpeners, I think a lot of restaurants use them. I use a steel myself. Google?

I have a "minoSharp Water Sharpener" which looks identical to that (may actually be the same thing). It's so good at restoring the insanely sharp edge, that I've only had to use it a couple of times; the rest of the time a few strokes of a ceramic steel are all that are needed.http://www.kitchenmate.co.uk/products.php?cat=14
Watch out that you get the right one, though. Apparently there are two models, one with the grinding angle set for Global knives, and another for European blades. At least, that's what the shop assistant told me when I bought it.

I've got a Japanese whetstone which I use on my handmade stuff (bought from the shop below). Works a treat and you are welcome to pop round and take a look.
Failing that, this guy's shop (Jay is his name) is pretty outstanding and he does a sharpening service. I spent 2 hours in there chatting about knives last time I went.

One of my friends gets her knives sharpened (Globals & Wusthoff) at a place on Brewer Street. I can't remember what it's called, definitely not the Private shop
, but she is pleased with them.
Denny's? Huge collection of knives for sale, but I wasn't aware of a sharpening service. May be worth a call though: http://www.dennys.co.uk/locations.asp#1

I have the Mino thingy and it is great. I also have the wetstone which I use once in a while when I'm feeling like doing a manly chore.

Why sharpen them when you never use them ?? I bet they are still in the original wrapping
