As I had nothing to do this Sunday. I thought I would give a nice wash and wax. on the griff. What a bad idea this turn out to be. Got my keys. And went to start her up and nothing no fuel pump noise nothing. Dead battery or immobiliser I thought. So tried again. Then there was clicking noise. Then smoke, lots and lots. as my hart beat stopped and thought what the f***** going on. rush round to pull the + lead off the battery at this time you could not see the battery or even the foot well. what i could see was a small thin cable glorying orange because it was that hot. after letting it cool down. i look to see where it went. it goes back to the earth on the battery. but i also notice another right at the back of the foot well. A cable was damage it was In a punch of cables that had melted the plastic. iam guessing this is part of the wiring loom. going to have a better look this weekend. but guessing new wiring loom. or would it better to just get a new ecu and wiring loom.

Might be worth just cutting the loom open and following the burnt wires, if you can track down the fault ( have you changed the battery recently, maybe a short at the fuse board) it might be just replace the cooked wires, good luck, John.
