I'm looking at a s2 wedge that has a chassis that was welded / strengthened at the last MOT. Apparently after this work it passed with no advisories.

Any opinions on if this is OK, or should I not touch one with a repaired chassis???

Thnaks for your help!

Philip.

Like most repairs - if the chassis has been prepared by a competent person you should have no problems. If anything it's a sign the car has been properly looked after.

Probably one of the major (almost inevitable) jobs done then...great ! smile

Just collected mine from MOT. A 'mere' £458 for trackrod ends, steering rack gaitors, fuel filter, door handle mechanism, light switch, and some bad earths to fix. - and the chassis was done a couple of years ago.

They only charged me 4+1/2 hours labour, which I think was pretty damned good.

Wedges are much cheaper to maintain if you're not a lazy bugger like me. hehe

It would depend on if the chassis had been plated over, or the damaged part cut out and replaced properly.

It would be almost impossible to bodge the chassis - replacement of the tube is the only way to go..

If it's been done - then that is a good thing.
