Sprinting and what is required
Discussion
Ok so I have now had the Chim for around 4 month's. and enjoyed every minute. I am thinking of sprinting it next year, and was wondering how best to approach this. So here is my list of question's feel free to give any further advise if you feel I have missed something.
1. Who/which body is best to contact for information/an introduction to sprinting
2. Does the car need any mods such as roll cage full harness etc (I have a 95 chim)
3. Other than Crash helmet do I need any other clothing such a fireprofs etc.
4. Do the less experienced sprinters (Novices) get any advise prior to sprinting.
5. I live in north Kent are any regular sprinting events held nearish to me.
6. Any other advise much appreciated.

Big sprinting section on my website. www.tvrbooks.co.uk which will answer your question.
Living North Kent means you can sprint at Lydden without the 2 hour drive it takes me.
There is also the TVRCC sprint championship that is based on a handicap so that any car can compete. Again many rounds are in the South of England.

Also check out the TVRCC Speed Championship discussion forum at http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/TVR_Speed_Champ/ where you will find information about getting started plus dozens of fellow TVR sprinters available to help and advise. If in doubt, feel free to email/call me any time to discuss.

I used to compete in the BARC/CCC Sprint Series.
It was £15 per Year entry fee plus membership of a club (BARC in this case of approx £30).
Each event was on a first to book policy. So you had to be quick in the post. With a fee depending on circuit £50 - £100.
RAC Sprint license required from MSA. £20 about.
Nomex overals, Race Numbers.Helmet with aproval sticker. Alarm clock (always early starts).
This is based on my experiance of some 5 year ago.
It bound to be different now.
Good luck
Good Fun
