If a vehicle is regsitered to a company that I own and an nip is sent to the registered office of the company.
What happens if one does not disclose the driver?

They will put the points on whoever signed the lease if it's leased.
Otherwise the company secratary will be a good target if the car is signed to a company.

Then the director of the business gets fined. Crazy isn't it.

Just think of all the extra admin just so you can prove yourself innocent. Nice to know our legal process has become so much more fair in the 21st century.

Wilfully refuse to disclose - Co could get £ 1,000. No points. If you tell them to get lost or it can be proved you connived to cover up etc - you could get fine and points.

But,..........If you give them a few names of people who could have driven the car ( whether on their own insurance or Co's doesn't matter ) and say that you've asked them all and none can remember, thats about as far as it can go.
The police can come round and threaten you with dire consequences but remember if they are seconded from the local partnership its their overtime thats at stake. Be civil and helpful and regretful and they will go away emptyhanded.

And if they suggest that you should be keeping a written record of drivers etc, it is not yet the law whatever the partnership might wishfully think.

been there, done it !
