I've been going to the cinema a lot over the last few months and at the beginning of every performance the BBC runs a number of looooong ads about either the organisation itself or a specific show.
Is it just me or is this a massive waste of money for an organisation that famously cut a large number of staff in its flagship news and nature units?

These ads can't be either cheap to make or run for so long at the beginning of every film showing so far this year and lets face it they don't have to play the ratings game. So why do the execs feel the need?

One of the most annoying things to happen at the cinema for a long time. Not what I want from my license fee.

I went to a subtitled session of a film and the first ad was a 5 minute Radio 1 ad consisting of a blank screen and a radio voiceover. Bit lost on the deaf I imagine smile

Sod BBC ad's. Its all bloody ad's at the cinema. I barely get change from £20 (for 2), pay over the odds for stale popcorn. Then have to sit behind the bloke with the biggest head in the world, in front on the tallest man in the world. Watch 15 minutes of st adverts, to then watch 20 minutes of trailers. Then the film begins and people spend it eating food and saying "is that the one who..."

Then we all fight to get out of the bloody place.

They wonder why people download films!

Ill monkey your lucky if its just 15 minutes. Went to see the new Bond the other day and had 45 minutes of ads before the trailers. 45 minutes!

I've got one of those pay monthly cinema card things so go quite a bit. There's always half an hour of ad's, trailers, etc. but if you arrive half an hour late, you miss them!
