What to look for in a TV?
Discussion
Having used my excellent diagnostic skills to determine that my TV is officially broken (too many pixels in the capacitor element, I think) - need a new one.
I think about 22-26 inches, we'll be sat about 3-4m away from it. Mainly TV (inbuilt digital would be an advantage, unless it works out cheaper to get a new box too, our old one is very old indeed), some DVDS, and a spot of Gran Turismo and Guitar Hero...
Budget is around £250-300, and longevity is much more important than overall picture quality. I have no idea if LCD, plasma, or anything else is better, that's for me to be told.
If it can be found in the Laminated Book of Dreams, then I'd be a bit happier.

Little leprechauns now... you dooon't want any of those little b
ds in there!Assuming there arent any, LCD is probably best for that size. I've got a 32" LCD LG which set me back about 400 quid. I sit about 3 meters away and I'd consider it to be as small as I'd want it to be. Nothing spectacular but it does the job perfectly well. It would be better if it had more than one HDMI mind you

What an odd requirement. If you don't give a feck about picture quality then just go to Tesco and buy the cheapest one they have in the size you want.

Other than being over size and over budget you're bang on there.OP
You've got no choice but to go LCD at up to a 26"
A quality brand is worth shelling out for the chinese maibatsu and the like crap just doesnt.
You're too far from the set for HD to be a consideration, in fact you're too far from the set for it to be comfortable on SD content, 3m is the absolute max recommended from a 26" set.
