Posting before creating topics

I notice most junk posts are people who have created a new user name.

A suggestion is that you can't create a new topic until you have posted x number of times in other threads.

I have seen this be utilised in other forums I know of, seems to quite good system.

This reminds me of the Fr. Ted scene with Dougal and Sister Assumpta .....

Problem as I see it, make a noob post 10/20 posts before they get full access and all you get is noobs posting TOTAL ste in order to up their post count. which is almost what we have now, except the mods clean it all up......

I generally don't bother posting on those forums because I make an account to ask a specific question. They lose a memeber.

We have a new system to cut down on the number of idiots in the works which should be ready pretty soon (and it isn't just upping Kinky's Guinness ration!)

I don't want to give away too much at the moment, but we will not be limiting new peoples ability to start topics (for the reasons mentioned above). Instead we will be focusing on making sure that newbies 'get' PH rather than just diving straight in with drivel which has no place on the site.
