clutch problem

can anyone shed some light on a slight problem i am having with my clutch?
Having started my car up a week ago,there seemed to be a slight squealing noise being made but when i placed my foot on the clutch ever so slightly it stopped?
The car has now started to play up,when you are setting off there seems to be a slight judder through the clutch and sometimes when you come to stopping the car it feels like the clutch is not engaging enough to the point where it has actually stalled ?

whats the problem and how much is the cost???????????

Not the answer you want to hear but I'd bank on it failing completely in the next few miles. Probably a combination of the slave cylinder and the clutch friction plate wearing (mine was more the former).

My advice, join the AA, add on their breakdown repair insurance and keep driving it until it fails. They'll then give you £450 towards your new £1000 clutch and slave cylinder.

I'd look at some of the aftermarket improved clutches that can be used to replace the original AP unit. Can't remember the name (maybe racetech) but they have been discussed on here at length.

how easy is it to access the clutch,any special tools required ?

Once you remove the prop shaft, gear lever, gearbox, starter motor & bell housing it's a piece of cake.....
