hi,iv had my st170 about 4 - 5 months now, totally faultless up untill putting a full stainless exhaust system from longlife on,now the engine management light comes on from day to day, sometimes it will, sometimes it wont.no dtc codes are shown on the on board diagnostic system,no probs driving or any sign of problem, just to add to it ive added a k+n induction kit, witch is nice, but has seemed to make it more frequent!if anyone could offer any suggestions on solving would b great, cheers

Mine hasn't been touched but the EML comes on all the time, I think its something in the exhuast system, to fix it will thats easy, remove the bulb.

You need a new lambda sensor by the sound of things.Mine used to be on all the time after getting a new cat.

I believe the lambda sensor to be a common problem as my wifes ST170 had one replaced in the inlet manifold about two years ago unders warranty and then 6 months later the engine management light started coming on again and the Ford dealer diagnosed this to be the one on the exhaust manifold. They told me this often get knocked when going over speed bumps due to the vehicle riding lower than the normal Focus, although we haven't had the car modified in anyway.

I think the cost was £60 for the inlet and £120 for the other sensors.
