Leeds Corn Exchange
Discussion
There are a couple of tennants sitting out their agreements. Ark are moving up to the Light and not sure about Sugar Lump.I'm not sure if they are letting new tennants in yet. If they are then there havent been any takers. Its a total travesty what they have done with it IMO. There is no way some poncy food court is going to do any business in Leeds. For starters the corn exchange is the other side of town to all the main offices where I would imagine the bulk of their income would come from. The referb is good but to me they have ripped the heart out of the corn exchange in getting rid of all the old trader that were in there.

I agree with that and I thought some of the shops offered something different from the usual high street.Plus I had one of the greatest nights of my life about 20 years ago when they hosted a rave in there

"Bottle of bubbly for the first couple to exchange underwear". Class.

um, am i the only one that is looking forward to the food emporium, rather than the shops in the corn exchange. I agree the way they turfed out tennants last year was awful, but personally I only ever went into a couple of the shops in there rarely as the city centre had everything I needed.
I'm looking forward to Antonys moving in, and I'm sure others will follow eventually.

I think they had a nice mix in there before. They could have created some room for food shops in a part of the building. There was something for everyone in there from old CDs to boutique clothing it was a really unique place. I rekon it will end up back as it was I just cant see 50 units being filled with food shops. Apaprently it was some rich heiress' idea. She obviously hasnt spent much time in Leeds!
