Just trying to gather information -- Is the Thistle haydock,Manchester Area to far away for some or not ? I've phoned the hotel for 60/70 rooms in july which they have at the moment [150 rooms all in]. Car park space for 200 cars and will split it up between guests and TVR event. But i do need to know what everybody's thoughts are if i'm still going to try looking for a suitable venue for BBWF. 08 was my first WF,would like to go to the 09 WF.
ps - I know other folk are looking, good luck.
Thank you john.

No complaints here!

Just to explain to those who don't know, it is situated apprx 300 yards from the J23 of the M6
where it meets the East Lancs rd.
So no Sat nav needed. or even a map if it comes to it!

Sounds fine to me chaps.

It's pretty easy to get to off the East Lanc Road (A580).

Perhaps we could have a run to the factory on the Sunday?

It's possible from East Anglia though even if it is a tenner cheaper, I'm sure that will be eaten up by the extra petrol!

I just clicked on their 'culture and heritage' tab and my browser crashed. hehe

Um yes...all that saved fuel...worth going over to red rose land and sampling some of their rubbish fish and chips. irked

Seems OK to me ..

Price for a room for 2 in late July seems to be £75.

Hi Alan, was trying find out if anyone had been to the Thistle Haydock before to see if it's up to everyone's standard, that's one reason i havent gone into price's yet. PS- what date's are we all thinking about !!

Jonny - I think we have usually gone for a Last July date .. but check with Gandalf..

Now Ettington seems to be off the radar - for what ever reason ..

Perhaps it's time to question whether we fancy a change of format, presently we have a central location hotel, gather in the car park and kick tyres, have a run out and a few traders on site. Then in the evening food either at the hotel or a local pub BBQ.

Which has been great fun but perhaps a change of format.

How about - nice hotel in rural beauty location (Llangollen - North Wales), kick tyres for a short amout of time but more focus on the runs out. Evo triangle, Horse pass, the B4391, Trevor. Town also has a Indian resteraunt - so Friday night would be fun in town.

FWIW The Griff boys have booked the 31st July so if you can get something off the ground I would suggest weekend of 18/19th as I am not aware of any other TVR national events on that date.

PS Ettington had no dates available for July but may have a date in August if anyone wants to go that late may be worth trying them if you want to return to EC?
