Hi chaps....

Need some urgent help here! I wanted to upgrade my jailbroken iPhone 2G from firmware 1.1.3 to 2.1 and I followed the following instructions but now I'm stuck and can't seem to get any further.....

- Put iPhone in DFU mode
- Restore using firmware 2.1 (iPhone1,2_2.1_5F136_Restore.ipsw)
- Open QuickPwn and it detects the iPhone....

That's it. It asks me to select the firmware I'm using but when I do that, nothing else happens and iTunes is reporting an incorrect sim card in the phone.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Cheers,

BB

Why would you want to jailbreak an iphone?

From the thread last week, I was given to understand there was virtually nothing it could'nt do (except take a decent pic wink)

Thanks for the incredibly useful advice......

I'll offer some of my own to you....learn some grammar.

Either way, the problem is now fixed.

Just try a full system restore through itunes. Then start afresh.

Brick - device is a$$ fked, as in you can't use it anymore as it has become corrupt due to hacking. Usually can save yourself by doing some things.

jailbreak - when the phone was released it was like it was in prison, it was locked to o2, it couldnt have any 3rd party apps on. So hackers changed this by jailbreaking, aka getting out of prison so you can have 3rd party apps. This went further and led to a full iphone unlock.

Even crosser in France where it is illegal to have phones locked to a network
