what a difference

Hi Everyone,

I just got the car back from kerridges after 2K worth of work on the exhaust system and blimey what a difference. i'm like a kid in a sand pit right now i thought i'd just got used to the car and had lost the initial excitement of the speed but er no. it seems it was running on about 1/2 power.

so glad it's snowing outside - typical!

i had both manifolds removed and welded to reinforce the original welds that i keep putting holes in, one lambda sensor was mis threadded in the hole and the other was er melted!, the front face of the manifold had twisted so had that machined and had new gaskets fitted.

also i had uprated headlamp bulbs fitted to i can now see something in the dark.

i'm so happy but as the misses is about as interested as i am in cleaning the bog i thought i'd let you all know. ha ha.

off to plough some snow now with the front splitter!!

yeah tell me about it! I've had it 2 months and spent about 3k all in all so far fixing things. It sat in a garage for 2 years before i got it and i'm driving it every day. I'm hoping this will pass once i uncover and repair the initial problems. The car has done 30000 miles and cost me 23k. If it costs me 28 to 30k in the end for a near perfect car then i'll still be happy. It's still good value for this kind of performance.

just thought you'd all like a laugh.... good old noble, after about 2 weeks of daily commuting the front manifold has a massive split in it.

cars back to kerridges for a new manifold... god i love this car, such a joy to own GGRRRRRR..

Just the manifold ( old style) are sh*t. New ones with the strenghting webs seem fine.

i suppose they'll replace like for like rather than fitting a new style one. Will the new one fit a 2.5 gto?

Not sure but the old ones can be modded.

ha ha. yes they "modded" mine, reinforced the weld around the branched parts. did the world of good...not ha ha
