First Annual Northern California Ultima Gathering

Hi all, I wanted to post some pics from the small Ultima gathering that took place this past weekend in Morgan Hill, California. We had 4 owners in attendance, Lawrence Farmer (Miller Racing), Lee Benson (aka-Firehawkpilot) and his lovely wife, “Do” from San Francisco, and myself Chris Julian. 3 complete cars and one on the stands- mine.

The highlight of the event had to be our visit to Lawrence Farmers shop in Morgan Hill. Lawrence is a long time racer/fabricator and offered up his full race, air cooled Porsche 6, Twin Turbo GTR for our review. FYI- Anyone looking a competent race fabricator/mechanic should talk to Lawrence- he has built 8 GTRs to date.

Take a minute and check out the pics and short videos.

Thanks, Chris

“Save the Date”- we are planning the 2nd Northern California Ultima Gathering in October 2009 at Laguna Seca during the last ALMS race of the season. We should be able to lock down space on the infield for all Ultima’s in attendance. Please save the date and contact me directly if you interested in attending.

Looks like a respectable gathering Chris. Sorry that I couldn't be there too. Is your car the only LS7 in the group? Where did you get the template for your splitter? I am ordering one from the factory to get all the mounts right so that it has solid mounting points. Who owns the Black car?

The gathering was a great sucsess. Chris thanks for doing all the hard work of coordinating. The idea of doing this next year at the ALMS Race in October at Laugna Seca seems a natural. All of you need to mark the date and try to attend. Lee

Paul,

I have been trying to obtain a template for the splitter, actually it's not so much the template as one can draw that up from the car, more the mounting points etc. The GBP185 for shipping is the killer for the factory unit, plus I heard of one arriving broken, but maybe if we got a few people together for a group buy we could get a better deal on shipping as most of the cost is for o/size not weight.
