Wondering if any of you gentlemen can help. I have to move on from my Chim (no fault schedule D.... don't get me started on that or insurance thieves!)
I think that I will probably move on (to another TVR) but it is a question of where.
I tried a 2001 Tuscan and thought that that was a lot of fun but am not certain about the best course of action
1) Should I buy a Tuscan Mk. 1 for mid teens value now
2) Given that Tamoras now appear to be a little cheaper should I go for one of those? I have heard they are nicer to drive but have not driven one- if anyone has driven both what are your thoughts?
3) Should I buy something cheap such as a v8s and wait for a couple of years until one of the last Tuscan Mk3s reaches my budget point? Is this worth it (I am pretty certain I WOULD prefer a full convertible)
I am not afraid of the running costs but right now I have a lot of my cash tied up in equities and it is not the right time to be converting that into a car, hence the reluctance to go the whole £30k plus hog on a Mk.3 so that is not an option
Having been in the Tiv world (and on this forum) for a few years I am happy that I would need to expect big bills and that just like Chims they vary so one should try a few. I also know that whatever one bought that the Speed Six does have issues!
Any comments very much appreciated on what option others (with more knowledge) might follow

To me it depends on finances and what you want to use the car for....
I used to have a Chimaera as an everyday car but when I moved further from work I needed a more economical / practical commuting car so sold it and aswell as a daily eurobox I got myself an S (V6) as a weekend toy. I had one of these before the Chimaera and forgotten how much fun they were

If it's fun fun fun in package that is a bit different (don't see many around) and will not depreciate as much as the more expensive models you'll not go wrong with an S. Also there have been some very reasonably priced V8S's in the classifieds recently.
Earlier in my Chimaera owenrship I also test drove a mk1 Tuscan and a Tamora. Gotta say that I preferred the Tamora by miles in lots of ways.
If / when I change from the S it will be for a Tamora - I love the looks and handling, plus they are pretty rare.
I think a drive in a sorted V8S will help you make your mind up one way or the other.......
Good luck with your decision and search!

I don't know the car or seller myself but the car is known in the S forum and appears to be a good one and good value! Ok, the wheels are not to everyones liking but I recently had mine done in shadow chrome for £85 each.....

Thank you for your advice. Sadly given that it is in the Isle of Man it is a bit of a trek for me.
Quite keen on this one though

Looks a good car and good value! And being a later car you get to keep your Chimaera wheels Quite keen on this one though

Might be worth posting in the S forum to see if anyone there knows the car?
