Where to get a decent suit?

I'm looking for a basic dark suit that I can use for any occasion. I'm a racing photographer, so I don't need to wear it more than a few times a year, but with a couple of months of awards ceremonies and shows coming up, I want something a bit better than the massively cheap one I've got from Asda. Mike, M&S, reasonably good off the peg and ranges in prices and styles.

You can't go far wrong with an M&S suit from their Italian range, especially when they are in the sale. Shouldn't set you back more than a couple of hundred.

None of this off the peg stuff as for the same money you can have a suit made (to cater for most budgets).

For £100 - £300 you'll struggle to beat M&S IMO.

I would suggest Marks n Spenc, would be better quality than Asda, a tad more expensive.

A decent tailored one is pointless if you are wearing it a few times a year and it will be around £600 for a decent bespoke one.

Don't go to retail places like Next etc as you may aswell spend the tad extra and get one from M&S.

Burtons are great for the money IMO.

Top tip - get a second pair of trousers at the same time to match the jacket as you have to have them washed a lot more often than the jacket.

There is a shop in Chester that are selling any 2 Ted Baker suits for £350!!

tehres a Paul Smith outlet store just off Bond Street, London, (Avery Close I think), or try TK Maxx, bit hit or miss but can get some very good stuff there for a budget

TK Maxx. Last time I was in there I got a William Hunt for £150. It 'was' a £720 suit. Bargain.

i got my last one from Prada on Bond street
not as expensive as you might think and the fit is mindblowing

Thing about off the rack suits is that they still generally need to be taken to a tailor and have some alterations done.
