I recently swapped out some alloy bars for carbon syntace bars. The difference in weight was handy but the real benefit was a much improved level of comfort. Previous harsh jolts from uneven surfaces on my route have been massively softened out. In both cases I already had carbon stiletto forks, so this is all down to bars alone.

So carbon front ends get a thumbs up from me - recommended biggrin

Carbon Bars? Is that some sort of workout-supplement?

This would make a whole lot of sense in the Pedal Powered forum

There are some fancy places to drink in Manchester now but you must be living somewhere much nicer if the bars are carbon.

We're still on aluminium or chrome at the minute.

I have some Race Face Next XC CF flat handlebars on my MTB. Doesn't make much difference to the ride because of the front suspension but they weigh less than the originals and look great smile

I have my first set of carbon bars on the Soda and can feel the difference even with front sus forks. On a rigid bike I can imagine they are a godsend.

I recently upped my tyre pressures from 100 to 120 and it's still very plush!
