Dunno about that - that looks like a fairly heavy wave to me. Pipe is a shore break (Albeit on an epic scale)and tends to look like a bigger wave than it really is.

i don't think unless you have been out in the ocean with a decent size swell that you can appreciate the power of a wave like that hence all the ho hum comments above. You would need a pair of hairy ones to ride that beast.

Pipeline is a reef break. I agree with your comments on the pictured wave though.

No doubt its big an heavy, but Hamilton and the like have ridden bigger and more powerful ones.

I agree with McLovin'. Laird will indeed have ridden bigger. That one looks pretty slabby though, looks like it would paste you if you get caught inside it.
