Does anyone have an exploded diagram view of a 400SE headlamp pod and the internals.. i.e brackets, linkage etc...

My drivers side pod internals are not looking too great and with the MOT coming up in a few weeks i need to have a look and see what it should be like...

Cheers

Don't have what you have asked for, but a workaround: lift the pods (manually if required) and pull the fuses. Pods stay up and it can pass the MOT (if your lights are working ;-) without any problems.

There are a couple which may help on the wedge pages.

Thanks for the replies so far....

The lights pop up and work fine. The problem is that part of the rear adjuster mechanism/bracket that holds the lamp in place is broken/corroded. Hence although the light is held in place you can quite literally push the lamp unit back about 1/2 an inch with no resistance in one corner. It wobbles like hell if your're driving and i suspect its not secure enough in place to pass the MOT??

Would that be an MOT failure? Its not going to fall out but its not 100% secure.

One of mine was loose like that, and my local garage sorted it for me last week (amongst other things), so she passed the MOT.
They only charged me four & half hours labour for sorting the light, fitting 2 trackrod ends, fixing door handle mechanism, new fuel filter, which was leaking anyway , fitting new light switch, and two rack gaiters. smile

Those are the round type headlight pods though.

In my experience the lights can be quite wobbly and pass the MOT, as long as when they come up they are in alignment.

my 400SE handlights are also wobbly, as one of the three fixation points is broken. Does anyone knows if it is sourced somewere of if it is a TVR special made part?

Cheers
