S6 - V10 Lambo engine
Discussion
I love mine. Bought it a year old, a year ago, everything on it. 23mpg on long journeys, drops to 15 if you drive like a nutter. Handles great for the size of car and brilliant in heavy rain and snow like Sunday just gone. Firm but comfortable ride. Tyres would seem to last 15k miles, but again depends on how you drive it. The extra money for an RS6 would not seem worth it. It is a very fast car. Take one for a spin and decide for yourself.
Cheers,

Nice review, what's the sound track like?Cheers,
My 2 pence worth.
They are a nice car, interior IMO is a lot nicer place to be than the equivalent BMW etc but as has been said not the most entertaining car to drive not that probably matters to most in this type of car.
One thing I would like to clarify is that it is not a Lambo engine, for starters it's displacement is different and most importantly so is the angle of the V 90 degrees as per all Audi V's bar the narrow angle.
An A8 is a lot more car for the money and a better mile muncher if that is what you are after, but if you want a great sounding engine and secure handling then go for it but don't forget you also have the BMW 550 pretty much as quick in real world conditions as the S6 and possibly a chunk more involving.

Sound.....there is a nice v10 burble everytime you pull away. the more you put your foot down the louder it gets. same in any gear really. Once you have reached the desired speed, it all goes away for an almost silent cruise. Then if you want some noise, just boot it! I think it has a trick valve exhaust.....2 pipes open all the time, 4 when you boot it.
On Sunday (in the snow) I had great fun. Just turn off the ESP and hang on. With the 4wd Quattro, XXmph on a country road with snow on it and all was fine in the world!!!! would not have fancied that in a BMW!
On the Lambo front....I'm sure there is a connection there somewhere.

I'd say it was a bit more than that....but I'm no expert.
