What file formats will it read?

Not getting the ipod thingy done until next year so in the meantime will want to burn fave tracks from itunes on to CD (get loads on a CD anyway)

What formats will multichanger read? and will it send track name tags to iDrive?

it will read one format: CD.

The drive in the dash will read wma and mp3.

Get the ipod conversion. You'll pay for it in the end anyway.
