Just put the Cerb away for the winter to do some work on her, im going to replace all the bushes with pollys front and rear (i have already done the diff)

Just wondering if anyone has advice on doing it? Or any good tools, is there a bush remover kit that will fit all the sizes?

The cheapest I can find a full set is on e-bay, is there anywhere else that does them cheap?
Cheers all

Ive replaced every bush on my Cerb during the resto except the diff ones so far.
No special tools needed. Just a press. But I replaced them with the OE ones, not poly, apart from the anti roll bar bushes, which I did get from S Heath.

You can melt and cut them out, but its too much on a PITA I felt.

If you've already done the diff bushes, the suspension bushes will be a piece of p155

Yea the diff bushes were a pain in the ass!!

So if you didn't burn + cut, how did you get them out?

I'am thinking of doing the same as Brett over the winter,
but have read on here that the poly bushes can squeak badly after a little time . Has any body here have any exsperiance of this and do you think this mod makes a real diffrence.

As long as your bushes are the same OD as a Griff/Chim this is by far the easiest way.

No press, flames or hacksaw needed! There's even an engineering drawing there for you.

This is what im going to have to do as a matter of course of refurbing the suspension. I have seen a package that steve heath sells for about 280 quid that includes all bolts and poly bushes.

Have you a link to the ones you have found on ebay?

Anyone know if there are any real advantages of using poly over the OE ones?

Just had a look on the Powerflex site and the part numbers for the Griff and Cerb are broadly the same.

Just measure the OD of a new bush and as long as it's between 24 & 27.1 mm it'll work. It's easy enough to alter the dimensions if the Cerb is different.

The real advantages of poly over OE are:

They are more resilient and don't wear. The OE ones degrade quite badly with time.
They are easier to fit.
Lot easier to disassemble should you need to.
Just generally a better product.

I polybushed the LS1 Cerbera when I had it apart.

Yea I got an e-mail off steve, looks like a better package than the one on ebay as you get new bolts etc. So ill go down that route, just going to get it all appart and see if i need the roll bar ones as well

My bushes do not squeak. I have done 12k miles and 18months so far. Standard bushes are also captive, so when they get to the extreme ends of the stroke they will offer a different resistance to when they are in their installed position, where as polys remain constant.
