I saw a strange light in the sky...

Well, it wasn't that strange and it was quite clearly something man made up in orbit, but I was just wondering if anybody would be able to tell me what it was or where there is a link for such information?

It passed overhead (Wick in South Wales) at approximately 06:41 and headed roughly from the northeast to south west. It was visible for quite a long time too.

I love things like this and on a clear night I can spend hours looking up at the sky, there have been some fantastic clear nights over the past few days and it looks like tonight will be the same. It's just a shame I've left my telescope up at my folks house!



Edited add that I have just noticed that I have used the wrong 'smiley' I intended to have a thumbup rather than an angry face...

Doesn't look like it was the ISS or the space shuttle.

Cheers for the links gents. If it was neither the ISS or Shuttle it must have been a satellite, which I expect will make working out which one quite a lot harder!

Unless it was aliens of course...

I've seen Sky Lab over Bridgend a few times recently. Travelling n west to s east.

06:41

It could have been something like this, the only thing was that when visible these tend to be 'flares' that last fairly briefly. The object I saw was visible for more than three minutes.
