Ernest,

Looks very nice... be very interested to know what you think of it, ie, sound and what, if any, performance change it makes. If you don't mind me asking... where did you get it and how much was it?

Sound is great! More bass. Hard to describe. I will pull out the digi camcorder over the weekend as that will probably be the easiest way to get the sound online...

Cheers

Got the Tubi unit itsself from Naples - circa $1700. Dimmitt did the work and took all the pictures for me...

PS: Will let you know on the performance front, but I feel better knowing I don't have to worry about welds breaking now

Looks great, Ernie! I can't wait to hear it and I look forward to seeing you, Tammy, and your V8's new goodies next weekend. It's been too long. You need to participate in more of our trips and activities so we can see you more often.

C'ya soon.

Karl-Franz :-)

I know they don't *advertise* one for the S4(s) but a guy here --Techspy - (says he) has one on his S4.

I think they do make one for the S4s. I think the "Tubi Speak" for that one is the Lotus Turbo 2200.

I would check with Tony at www.naplesmotorsports.com/ if you are in the US. He is prompt with answering his emails and will get back with you very quick. A also paid them via PayPal, so that means you can use whatever payment method you want...

Yeah, you can get one for the 4 cylinder engines, but when I contacted Naples, they said one wasn't available. They said one isn't in the catalog, so it isn't available. I feel sure that if they would have taken the time to contact the manufacturer that they would have been able to get me one. But I figure that anyone not willing to make an effort didn't deserve my cash.
Anyway, I found a supplier in the UK, and ended up paying about $2000 delivered. They contacted the factory directly and had it made to the specs for my particular model. It took about 3 months to arrive, which didn't bother me as I wasn't home with the car during that time anyway. I havn't seen or heard it yet, but they tell me it is nice. I will try to upload some picts and sounds to my website when I get home sometime in Feb. As for getting one from a UK supplier, you just need to email them and ask them if they will ship one to you in the US as they are not supposed to sell outside of their market area. After explaining that the US distributor couldn't supply me one, they had no problem taking my order. Also, be sure to provide the correct exit configuration. I believe I stated "passenger side exit" which is why I got it on the left side (UK passenger side), and now need to find a different rear trim piece for the rear bumper.

The best exhaust system in the world for the S4/S4s is made by Neil Micklewright. Yes, the same guy who works at the CART team for Players Forsythe. I don't know if he is still making them, but it is worth a try. Perfect sound, perfect fit, perfect everything for only $ 500.

Ernest,

Checked out your site and read about the Mothers paint chip stuff. Can you tell me what it does? Does it smooth out the paint bubble to match the conture of the car? How do you apply it?

Thx Dan

That is correct. After you build up the blob of touchup paint, you apply a small amount of the paint chip repair and then using (the included) flattening board wrapped around the equivelant of an old t-shirt, you just rub it. Great stuff, especially if you are a little afraid of the "sandpaper" route, which I was...
