Squeaky Gearbox

There is a deep squeaking sound coming from what sounds to be the front of my gearbox. Been doing it for a few weeks now. No problems with the car but just wondering if I should be expecting something to go soon. I checked and replaced my gearbox oil (mt90) but it still does it.

Anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like your throwout bearing may be getting ready to go.

Been there, had that happen. Albeit on the Renault gearbox.

It does this without the clutch being depressed, would that still be the case? Should I stop driving it until I get it replaced? Could it do more damage if I do?

Release bearing will just wear.

I do know of one person who had the problem just lubed the bearing without taking anything apart. If you want I could try and contact him and see how he did it. He no longer has an Esprit and it has been a while since I last emailed him. But I could still try if you want me too.

can of high temp grease that went on like WD40 and set up pretty thick.

Thanks Calvin. I guess it won't matter now the engine is coming out anyway. I'm going to fix all of this stuff while it is out.
