Increase in Air Passenger Duty

Can't recall seeing anything in this forum so was wondering if anyone noticed that hidden behind the ct Darling's headline grabbing VAT reduction he has slyly immplemented another "green tax" (original thinking there) on flights.

If this wasn't enough, if you travel in anything other than basic cattle class, all APD charges will automatically double - nice!!

Want to take your family of 4 in premium economy to visit those relatives in Australia?? That'll be £680 in tax before you even start looking at the price of the tickets.
