I had no idea AI was at this stage, obviously the honda robot is pretty amazing in its abilities alone, however its far from human like!

I cant help but think what's the point in making human like robots?

Any thoughts on this?

Erm... Jim henson has been doing animatronics for years. All this is is face recognition software, applied to said animatronic head, (and not very well if you ask me.

The main reason for posting this was more a why? rather than wow.

I fail to see any sort of benifits to having a human like robot, surely a robot looking robot is just as useful and a lot less freaky?

So i'm not alone in thinking it looks like crap.

Always thought the coolest robot i've seen is that boston-dynamics 4-legged dog thing, looked creepy the way it moved, very animal like. Not quite sure what the fascination with making them look like more convincing humanoids is, what's the point in that ?

Anyone seen the robitic router (sp) its a mechanical spider that acts as a router and can create any images in wood/foam ect from a CAD drawing!!
