Quick question......

Can any of you recommend a decent curry house in Bournemouth please? Preferably not the expensive kind and somewhere that'll take a booking for a largesih group (12).

Thanks smile

Not exactly Bournemouth but close, Westbourne - Taj Mahal, gets my vote every time.

Was even a regular Christmas Eve event when I used to live at home. Even now I occasionally drive down from Surrey to eat there.

That said I've haven't lived there for a few years.

Enjoy

Rajasthan at Penn Hill. I went out with an Indian girl over 10 years ago and she said it was the nearest to her mothers cooking she'd found down our way. However, I have been to Indi's and that is good as is Sammi's on commercial road.

However Indi's is closest to Bournemouth if that's where the 12 of you are based. There's also the Himalay on Queen Street (Tahi, next to Pig & Whistle) which is getting closer to town.

My biggest recommendation is that there are every few really decent restaurants actually in Bounremouth town

I've lived in Bmth for 20 years, and simply the best Indian food is Sammi's in Parkstone. Not far from Bmth.

He's a mate of mine since I go there so much biggrin

The food is cooked in view of people, and all the sauces are individually made. Food is just superb.

I never go anywhere else, and i've tried most of them!

If you go, tell him Mr Bennett sent you wink

He will do you £15 per head for 3 course set meal. I do all my work nights there and people are impressed.

Eyo of the Tiger is right in the town, it's a good size and is ok, but as someone else said - Bournemouth itself isn't great for eating out.

Your actually smack in the middle of Westbourne and Bournemouth, a short(ish) walk either way.

Here here here, Indis is just awesome. Great guys in there too, really friendly and the food is amazing - not your average oily slop.
