eBay sucks ****

Seriously, anyone else getting annoyed? Not at eBay but by the sheer amount of clear problems.

Sigh , yet I still see people reccomending to use ebay for things that people require

Good god, give it a rest you guys. Every time I see an Ebay complaint it reminds me the cursed place is still there and I go over there and buy something 'useful'.

Last nights useful purchases were a 1/2" UNC die nut and a pack of 10 stainless steel 5/16" UNF aircraft bolts. They look dead neat too, 12 point drive, hollow heads.

Wonderful world of a monopoly I'm afraid. I'm pi**ing and moaning about them at the moment, but come sat or sun will be listing items again. Why? How else do I sell items?

There are 2 lousy alternatives, or you use forums, sometimes forums work well but if you want a quick sale ebay wins.

This is where the issue is.

Everyone thinks like this, meaning nothing gets done and nothing changes, so we end up being their bhes.

If everyone collectively diversified into other auction sites like ebid and started using other means of payment than paypal then something would change.

Thats only 10 threads (this week!), and even if it was 10 people per thread thats only 100 people, millions of people use ebay every day!
I got ripped of a couple of years ago by selling stuff abroad which they said didn't turn, total value including postage was about £100.
I've just moved on and continue to use ebay to source car parts, tools, bits for my mobile phone, watches, books etc, etc. and i've had no problems at all.

I've been browsing ebid.net and useful auction stuff seems to be growing. I still think if any of the big social networking sites (Bebo, facebook, myspace) made an online auction facility Ebay would be kicked square in the balls.

Mostly use Gumtree and Craigslist to find, buy and sell stuff.
