Guys,

Me and the missus are planning on going to Amsterdam for a short break to 'err, see the sights. Any of you wedgers recommend a nice hotel?? And I don't fancy the following the advice once doled out to me by a certain group of 'European' Wedge owners to 'sleep under a bridge, it will be fine'.... no wonder we beat 'em in the tug of war! ;-)

Went there with the wife Nov 2006 - thought it was a really nice city with good friendly atmosphere etc. Can't for the life of me remember the name of the hotel though - but I do remember I thought it was very expensive for what it was (tiny room) although it was in a good location near regular trams about 5 mins walk from the VanGogh museum.
I'd use tripadvisor as a guide. Some of the hotels are in well dodgy areas where I don't think you'd want to be with the other half! Going there on a stag do in Jan and staying at the Tulip Inn Central which doesn't look too bad from the websites.
