Just in case any of you folks are Apple users and fans, they are doing the Black Friday 24 hour sale of both online and in store goods, so grab yourself a bargin.
Does anyone in the US know what kind of % discounts they will be doing here in the UK as this is the first time its happened and i want to know if its better than rummaging in the refurb bin?

It's normally about 15% - with some stores having bigger discounts for the first 1 or 2 of a specific item.
Don't know what the UK discount would be, but as I got 20% off my MacPro a couple of months ago I won't be buying another one anytime soon.

I priced up a new 8 core tower and screen last month but didnt do anything about it... I usually just shop through Jigsaw but maybe this might be worth looking into

Just make sure it doesn't go wrong! 11 trips to the store, 3 with my 24" imac in tow and they eventually,begrudgingly, fixed my machine (computer well under a year old and still in warranty).
Macs look great, and can be - but my experience of the 'genius bar' (aka repair desk) is less than great.

Ummm thats not a happy tale.
I love my mac products and always have done.. I hammer them daily (touching every piece of wood on the desk) my 9 year old G4 tower hasnt failed (two hard drives though) and its rare it even gets turned off.
Everyone raves about the Apple support they get via Jigsaw - but not even knowing where my local apple store is, I'm less tempted to shell out 2k tomorrow on a new tower and screen directly from Apple.

I think they are ste, form over function. My GFs 2 year old Macbook Pro has lots of issues, one of the RAM slots stopped working, the charger connection only works if you twist it a certain way, and it started crashing a lot which is why she then..........bought another one. 
She won't have anything else as she's a fully assimilated iDrone now.

ds (the strand) wont let me buy the old stock at discount (black macbook with firewire) they want to charge me the fully £950 for last years model, they then tell me it probably wont be in the sale tomorrow.Is that right? does anyone know where i can get last years model at a discount?
