I guess that a lot of people will not believe this.

I have just had an apology from DVLA!

It appears that after 12 months I was right and they were wrong.

Good Morning
Firstly I apologise for the service you have received from the DVLA.
I can confirm our records show J***LLA as exported.
Your other 2 vehicles are not showing as exported however I will do
this as a matter of urgency.
Many Thanks, Marj

Now to use the old saying 'You could knock me down with a feather'

Still, will wait before celebrating too much on how long they take to get my other vehicles in order.

I never even got the courtesy of a reply when they lost my log book and told me to pay for a new one and claim the monies back from Royal mail. I pointed out that only the sender can claim, if they have proof of postage and value.

My first e mail of complaint was supposedly forwarded to the Brum branch of DVLA, but there was no reply, and the second one, and month later, never even got a response.

A month later the log book turned up, in my draw at home, where the wife had put it weeks before.....

At least I know what to expect if DVLA DO lose it: nothing!

I've had one too.

My CO2 amount on our car was wrong, and Kia supplied the correct data for me to send to the DVLA. After a 6 month drawn out process, the DVLA apologised for all the inconvienience caused, and even refunded the last months tax (that the dealer paid for).

What gets me is the approach that if they make a mistake it is up to us to check their work for them.....

In many cases the answer to that is - How?

I was exporting three vehicle, that removes them from teh DVLA database. There is no forwarding address etc.

This came to light only after DVLA sending out tax reminders and the guy in my old house having the presence of mind to tell me about it. if he hadn't i'd have never known about DVLA not carrying the instruction.
