XJ8 (X308) engine thermostat renewal

I was wondering if anyone knew the procedure of how to drain the coolant and fit a new thermostat and re-fill. This is for a 2002, 3.2litre model.

Do yourself a favour and get this book.

I bought it for my dad when he was looking for his 3.2, and he found it invaluable. It also details the thermostat replacement.
